Christmas gifts for all ages

If you’re looking for Christmas gift ideas, the Antigonish Affordable Housing Society (AAHS) has a couple of suggestions.

The Society will present an evening of music and song at the Bauer Theatre on December 20th and 21st. Home for Christmas: An Evening of Christmas Magic will feature a talented cast of local performers including Laura Teasdale, the B2G Big Band, Brent Bannerman, Sheumais MacLeod, Mike and Rosemary Melchin, Andrew and Aste Stalker, Phillip Cooper, Janet Becigneul, and dancers from the Maureen Fraser School of Dance.

Tickets are $20 each and can be purchased at the Antigonish 5-$1 Store, Hawthorne Convenience or from Board members.

For the young, and the young at heart, raffle tickets are also available for a beautiful handcrafted Victorian doll house currently on display in the window of The Insurance Store at the corner of Main and College Streets.

Lovingly made by hand 25 years ago by Donna Huffman, the doll house comes complete with furniture for every room. While downsizing recently after her husband Stephen retired, she decided to donate the doll house to a good cause.

The lucky winner will be drawn at the Christmas concert on December 21st. Tickets are $2 each or three for $5. They are available from Board members or by contacting Janet Becigneul at 902-872-2729 or jbecigneul@eastlink.ca

Proceeds from both fundraising initiatives will go to support the Society’s Housing for Hope capital campaign.
