Safety first!

Colleen Cameron, AAHS Chair, recently received a cheque for $1,500 from Antigonish MLA Randy Delorey to purchase items relating to safety promotion and/or vandalism reduction at Riverside Estates. The cheque is from the Insurance Bureau of Canada which provides  a grant to community initiatives such as ours each year.

The AAHS has opted to purchase exterior solar lights, special shower mats and fire extinguishers for each apartment, as well as eye and hearing protection for use while mowing lawns or removing snow. All purchases are investments in making sure residents are safe and secure in their homes.

The Society is grateful to the Insurance Bureau of Canada for its generosity, and to our MLA for recommending AAHS as the recipient of this year’s grant.
