Construction Timeline
2013-15 Land for Riverside Estates provided by the Town of Antigonish for $1.
  $100,000 commitment received from the Municipality of the County of Antigonish over five years.
  $100,000 donated by the Sisters of St. Martha.
July 2016 $100,000 in federal & provincial funding announced by Housing Nova Scotia.
August Tenders called for construction.
September Robert Archibald Construction awarded tender to build Phase 1.
Footings, frost wall & backfilling completed.
Site sign erected.
October Ground work on the site completed including site levelling & excavation, frost wall & concrete slab, tie in to municipal water & sewer lines, a concrete walkway, & preparation for paved parking.
November Exterior is complete; windows, doors, spray foam insulation installed.
December Slabs poured for washrooms in wheelchair accessible units.
January 2017 Electrical wiring installed, drywall hung, all units insulated.
Painting & trimming work has begun.
Power pole installed providing heat & power to the building.

February/March
Kitchens, vanities, trim & electrical fixtures have been added.
Two upper units are now complete.
Occupancy permits for March 1st have been secured for the upper units.
Lower units are nearing completion.Hook-ups for the washer & dryer for the wheelchair accessible units completed.
Storage shed for tenants being built by NSCC.
All necessary inspections & walk-through have been done.
Phase 1 units are ready for occupancy.
April/May Street sign is up.
Storage shed has arrived.
Landscaping has begun.
