AAHS can only do what it does because of donations. We receive contributions from individuals, corporate donors, charitable organizations, foundations, and all levels of government. Financial contributions help us assess and develop opportunities to create affordable housing and provide social support for our tenants.
AAHS is a federally-registered charitable organization. Donors receive a tax receipt for financial gifts. Our Canada Revenue Agency charitable number is 877266718RR0002.
WAYS TO DONATE
Our preferred way for you to donate is via our website.
Your donation comes directly to us and you receive your tax receipt automatically with less volunteer effort for us!
If you prefer, not to donate through our secure portal, it is possible for you to make an e-deposit or donate by cheque. We receive the full amount of your donation and a volunteer will manually record your donation and issue your tax receipt.

To receive a tax receipt, in the message field you must state ‘donation’ followed by your postal address in the message field. Also, we ask that you provide your email and telephone number.
- Cheques are payable to the Antigonish Affordable Housing Society. To receive a tax receipt, you must include your postal address on the cheque or in a note. Also, we ask that you provide your email and telephone number. Mail your cheque to:

Give to Targeted Campaigns
From time to time, AAHS promotes specialized donation campaigns. For instance, a donor may offer to match donations up to a certain amount, or we may seek donations for a specific purpose. Sometimes, we run a raffle or an auction. Watch this page, our home page, Facebook and Instagram for announcements.

Legacy Gifts
Including AAHS as a beneficiary in your will is a great way to support us. Legacy gifts of cash, property or a percentage of your estate enables you to help us in future and to answer the question of how you’d like to be remembered. Consider speaking to your credit union, bank or a financial advisor about leaving a donation to AAHS in your will.

Are you passionate about affordable housing, quality of life, and creating stronger local non-profit organizations? Do you have skills, knowledge, expertise that you can contribute to AAHS? Please consider joining our board or a committee. Write us here or fill out our volunteer application form.
Without volunteers AAHS would not exist. We don’t have a paid executive director or a coordinator to manage our organization. Volunteers plan and carry out nearly all activities, as well as govern our organization.
Members of our board of directors and committees are all volunteers. Our board sets strategy and makes key decisions. Our committees do most of the day-to-day work. Additional volunteers engage occasionally by helping to organize and deliver events and campaigns.
AAHS welcomes applicants from equity-seeking communities. We are keen to involve volunteers who have lived experience of inadequate housing or living on low incomes. AAHS needs volunteers in nearly all aspects of our work. See Committees
